International Elevator & Equipment, Inc. (IEE) has initiated the birth of its safety ambassador, Miteku. Aside from its serious commitment to safety policy, which is to provide a healthy, safe, and secure environment, IEE believes that developmental changes happening during childhood have profound and lasting consequences for the future. Together, Miteku and his friends John and Maria, representatives of IEE employees’ young at heart and the children in the country, have been promoting safety awareness through their campaign on teaching children how to use the elevator and escalator properly.

Midori Tekunoroji, also known as Miteku, a Japanese name translated into English, means green technology. They launched it on April 1, 2016, along with the IEE’s 47th Anniversary. They shared this celebration with Tuloy sa Don Bosco Street Children Village as part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). In Miteku's campaign on safety, they showed a video highlighting dos and don'ts on elevators and escalators. A comic version of the video, plus bags and bag tags, were given to keep so that the children could remember what they had learned. IEE, especially Miteku, was warmly welcomed by the staff and kids of Don Bosco. The kids dedicated a song and dance number to convey gratitude and appreciation.

A two-day Christmas party, held on December 21 and 23, 2019, headed by Miteku, to promote the well-being of everyone, especially children, as the Christmas season approaches. People will undoubtedly be using elevators and escalators as they prepare for the season of giving and celebration. Thus, timely to teach and remind everyone of safety, use, and etiquette.

Elevators and escalators are machines that are part of our daily lives, even children when they roam around malls, museums, or simply regular buildings like schools and condominiums. Hence, to practice safety precautions, proper use and etiquette should always be in mind.

Miteku's campaign is aimed toward the young and the young at heart because practicing safety has no age limit. Safety-minded is safe and secure.
