Mitsubishi Electric Group in the Philippines Provides the Environment the Care it Deserves

Mitsubishi Electric Group in the Philippines represented by International Elevator & Equipment, Inc. (IEE) and MELCO Factory Automation Philippines Inc. (MELAP) organized an environmental CSR at Tanaw de Rizal, Rizal Laguna last October 21, 2022.

More than a hundred employees of IEE led by Katsunori Ushiku, President and Shinichi Kusunoki, EVP and Treasurer together with MELAP headed Albert W. Wang, President, volunteered in this environmental activity which was supported and in cooperation with Local Government Unit (LGU) of Rizal, Laguna represented by Vice Mayor Antonino A. Aurelio and Tourism Director Hannah Pearl U. Isleta.

Kusunoki encouraged everyone to plant more trees and to keep in mind its vital role in our life. He reiterated that the best time to act in saving our environment is now. He added that the act of planting trees also signifies the Mitsubishi Electric’s corporate statement, “Changes for the Better”.

Wang said that he is very happy that both companies were able to come up with common schedule to make this event possible. He stressed out that adopting a portion of Tanaw de Rizal forest symbolizes that Mitsubishi Electric Group in the Philippines is committed in protecting our environment. He added that trees are sources of soil conservation and prevent floods specially that typhoons occur in our country many times.

Aurelio said he is grateful that Mitsubishi Electric Group in the Philippines is one with Rizal, Laguna in protecting Tanaw de Rizal by adopting a planting site. Tanaw de Rizal, a protected forest and wildlife, is a priority project of Rizal, Laguna for the environmental sustainability. It is also a local government-instituted ecotourism development site.

On Ushiku’s closing message, he thanked everyone for their cooperation and hoped that they were able to relieve their stress under the beautiful nature. He emphasized that Mitsubishi Electric Group in the Philippines were able to provide the environment the care it deserves. He also shared that the activity is what he envisioned when an ideal tree planting is mentioned.

The activity ended by climbing at Noah’s Arc wherein the 360 degrees of the forestry can be seen.
