Elevating the IEE Expertise

Technological advancements are rapidly reshaping various industries by elevating productivity and efficiency to unprecedented levels. As technology progresses, the demand for developing employee skills increases to ensure that these technologies are used effectively.

For companies like International Elevator and Equipment Inc. (IEE), staying at the forefront of vertical transportation systems technology and nurturing employee expertise is crucial. These allow the company to maintain its reputation for delivering high-quality products and services.

As a result, the company takes a progressive step forward by establishing a robust employee development program that will help employees grow as individuals and professionals in the vertical transportation, air conditioning systems, and building solutions industries.

Here’s a look at how IEE elevates its expertise.

IEE's Commitment to Excellence

As one of the leading elevator and equipment corporations, in partnership with Mitsubishi Electric, IEE is committed to excellence. This commitment means staying updated with technological advancements and fostering a highly skilled workforce.

Employee Development Programs

Each department has its initiatives to provide employees with training and development programs. These programs enable employees to attain new knowledge and hone their skillset and talent.

Internal initiatives for employee development are conducted, covering new hires and tenured employees. Some of these programs include orientations, training, refresher courses, HR-related seminars focusing on employee safety and health, and compliance training programs. This is apart from each department’s separate training for their staff on how they can do their roles better.

Training at IEE’s Training Towers

Time is also dedicated to skill enhancement programs within the training towers. Seasoned experts and engineers lead these training programs. Training programs focused on the company’s products and services are conducted within 2 to 10 days. These include performing the actual installation, maintenance, and repair of elevators and escalators.

External Learning Programs

External initiatives for employee development also include training programs from the group company of Mitsubishi Electric. Employees have the opportunity to attend overseas seminars and training. While safety personnel and HR representatives get invites, they attend free awareness training from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). These external programs expose the employees to learnings outside of the office and their usual environment.

Apart from developing their skills, IEE’s commitment to excellence also entails caring for the employee’s overall well-being.

Nurturing IEE Future Leaders

Beyond technical knowledge, specialized training also emphasizes leadership development. Strong leadership is vital for the company's growth and sustainability. Through training and refreshers, employees can progress and take on leadership roles by learning to lead teams effectively, make strategic decisions, and adapt to dynamic market demands.

Engaging and Recognizing the IEE Employee

IEE recognizes the role of its employees in the company’s overall growth. Employee engagement and recognition programs are provided to ensure employees feel that the company recognizes and appreciates their work and efforts.

The company’s HR department conducts regular non-work related activities such as company-wide outings/team-building activities, and a monthly activity called HRD Sessions. This enables employees to take a break from work and engage with their colleagues. The company also holds a Loyalty Service Award at every Christmas party to commend employees for their years of service in the company. Employee performance directly impacts the company’s progress. These programs focus on employee growth and are a testament to the company’s dedication to excellence and continuous improvement.

Ensuring Employee Safety

IEE complies with industry-standard protocols and procedures to ensure its employee’s safety. In addition, these safety standards are also applied to the company’s products and services to guarantee that they are safe to operate since they comply with industry standards.

The company prioritizes internal safety compliance by submitting reports such as Work Accident Illness Report (WAIR), Meeting Minutes, and Report on Safety Organization (RSO) to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). Additionally, employees are expected to adhere to safety and quality policies, which are comprehensively covered in the employee and safety handbooks distributed to all teams. These handbooks provide detailed precautionary procedures and essential information for product installation, service, and reporting. This handbook also encompasses safety procedures for all the company’s products – vertical lifts, air conditioning systems, power-generating systems, and building management systems.

Consistent Advisory on Health and Safety Protocols

Safety is crucial since vertical transportation deals with transferring goods and people. It involves providing the people behind its proper function, repair, and maintenance with the tools and programs to improve their well-being.

This means consistent daily announcements on the company’s health and safety protocols to remind employees of the do’s and don’ts while working. The company also has an in-house nurse and doctor for the employee’s health concerns. Employees also have a free mandatory annual physical examination through the company’s partner medical clinic to gauge their overall health and also in compliance with the Local Government Unit (LGU)’s requirements.

On-site, IEE employees attend the 'toolbox meetings' where safety standards are reiterated. During the meeting, the work schedule for the day and the work hazards and countermeasures are discussed, along with special announcements.

Embodying IEE's Long-Standing Reputation

The company’s reputation for providing top-notch products and services is attributed to its technological prowess and employee expertise. Embodying the company’s commitment, “Changes for the Better,” employees are encouraged to embrace IEE's core values of excellent customer service and satisfaction.

IEE conducts several initiatives for employees to learn more about the company and embody it while working:

  • Sending out internal newsletters. Internal newsletters are frequently sent out every quarter, with various themes or topics such as passion, productivity, working for the better, etc. This newsletter aims to communicate and refresh employees’ minds on why they work in the elevator and equipment industry and the vision that they are trying to achieve together with the company.
  • Wearing their uniforms. The uniform that the company provides symbolizes the employee’s identity and unity as part of the workforce. An employee wearing the uniform also puts clients at ease as they know that they are receiving service from the best.

The integration of the company’s commitment to its technologies and labor force impacts the company's competitiveness in the industry. Well-trained and knowledgeable employees contribute to streamlined operations, faster product development, and enhanced customer service. As a result, IEE continually raises the bar for excellence in the industry.

The relationship between advancements in technology and employee expertise is the driving force behind the company’s success. By fostering technical know-how and investing in employee growth and employee satisfaction, IEE set the standards for excellence within the company and the industry. The company’s commitment to utilizing technology and focusing on employee development will remain the company's cornerstones for continued growth.
