CLIMAVENETA: Air Conditioning for Comfort

In today's world, where energy efficiency and sustainability are paramount, Mitsubishi Electric is at the forefront of innovation in air conditioning systems. The renowned European brand Climaveneta, offers cutting-edge solutions that meet the most demanding requirements of modern buildings. From unbeatable efficiency at part load to extremely silent operation, the products are designed to deliver optimal comfort while minimizing operational impact.

The Challenges of Modern Buildings

Office buildings, hotels, large shopping complexes - all demand air conditioning systems that not only provide ideal temperature, humidity, and air quality but also meet strict energy efficiency and sustainability requirements. Reduced initial investment and running costs, compliance with environmental regulations, and attention to comfort and noise emissions are crucial factors in deciding which system to choose.

The Revolution: TECS Vision 2.0

Mitsubishi Electric's TECS Vision 2.0 chillers are the epitome of efficiency and reliability. With its utilization of magnetic levitation technology, these systems offer unmatched performance in both air and water cooled solutions. The TECS Vision 2.0 range includes chillers with centrifugal compressors, ranging from 200 to 1949 Kw, making them suitable for a wide range of applications.

Unbeatable Efficiency at Part Load

One of the standout features of TECS Vision 2.0 systems is its exceptional efficiency at part load. Traditional scroll/screw units pale in comparison to the energy savings achieved by TECS2 units, with ESEER values up to 60% higher. These savings translate into significant cost reductions, especially for buildings that require year-round operation.

Extremely Silent Operation

Noise emissions and vibrations are critical considerations for comfortable indoor environments. Mitsubishi Electric has addressed this challenge by adopting centrifugal compressors with magnetic levitation and low-noise fans in the air source units. As a result, TECS2 units boast the lowest sound power and pressure levels on the market, ensuring a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. The reduction in vibrations also minimizes the transmission of noise to the building structure.

Simplified Logistics

The search for prestigious central locations and the complexities of building site logistics pose challenges in the installation of air conditioning systems. Mitsubishi Electric has overcome these difficulties by incorporating Turbocor compressors in the TECS2 units. These compressors offer an advantageous capacity-to-weight ratio, making site operations more manageable. Additionally, water source units boast reduced dimensions, allowing for space optimization in plantrooms.

Infrastructure Optimization and Low Inrush Current

The quality of the electrical system installed in a building can significantly affect its value. Mitsubishi Electric recognizes this and ensures that the systems do not overload the electrical infrastructure. TECS2 units feature very low inrush current, as a result to the characteristics of the compressors and the use of "inverter" starting. This low inrush current allows for a more favorable selection of protection devices, improving the overall electrical performance of the building.

Technological Advancements

Mitsubishi Electric's technological choices in designing air conditioning systems contribute to superior performance and reliability. Let's explore some of these advancements:

  • Centrifugal Compressor with Magnetic Levitation
TECS2 units are highly innovative centrifugal compressors with magnetic levitation. This compressor offers efficiencies far superior to traditional volumetric compressors. The adoption of magnetic levitation technology results in reduced weight and dimensions, eliminating vibrations and minimizing wear. Moreover, by operating without oil, the compressor's performance is improved, leading to enhanced heat exchange processes.
  • EC Fans for Enhanced Efficiency
Mitsubishi Electric has incorporated EC fans into the TECS2 units to optimize efficiency and performance. These fans minimize refrigerant pressure drop and allow for complete control of the refrigerant level in all operating conditions. This precise control ensures optimal heat exchange and complies with the security requirements of the "F-gas Regulation." Additionally, the use of DC brushless motors in EC fans further improves energy consumption and reduces inrush current, resulting in quieter operation.
  • Electronic Valve for Precise Regulation
To ensure ideal operation in all conditions, Mitsubishi Electric has integrated electronic valves into the TECS2 units. These valves regulate the evaporator in water cooled units by precisely detecting the refrigerant level in the heat exchangers. The fast processing of acquired data enables fluctuation-free regulation, allowing for highly accurate adjustments to load and ambient conditions. In air cooled units, precise control of the sub-cooling in the condenser coil is achieved, ensuring optimal performance.

The Range of Mitsubishi Electric Air Conditioning Systems

Mitsubishi Electric offers a comprehensive range of air conditioning systems to meet diverse needs. Let's explore the options available:

Air Cooled Units

The TECS2 outdoor units are perfect where space is limited. Despite its compact layout, it offers incomparable efficiency and noise levels. The capacity range of these units has been extended up to 1325 kW, with 26 different sizes available.

TECS2 units are available in two functions: base and desuperheater. The desuperheater function allows thermal energy to be used for auxiliary purposes, increasing overall energy efficiency. To cater to different noise level targets, Mitsubishi Electric offers two acoustic versions: SL-CA (Super Low Noise, Class A) and XL-CA (Extra Low Noise, Class A). For even higher efficiency, the SL-CA-E versions feature the adoption of EC fans and generous heat exchanger surfaces.

Water Cooled Units

Mitsubishi Electric's water cooled units, known as TECS2-W, are available in two functions: base and H (heat pump reversible on the hydraulic side). These units are further categorized into two versions: Low Condensing (LC) and High Condensing (HC).

The LC version is suitable for applications where the water cooled unit is coupled with a medium temperature external source, such as a ground source or cooling towers. On the other hand, the HC version is designed for situations where the unit is expected to work at high condensing levels, such as critical dry-cooler installations or when heat pump mode reversibility is required.

TECS2-W indoor units are designed for indoor installations, offering a minimum footprint that results in significant cost savings in terms of logistics and plantroom costs in modern buildings. The range comprises 20 different sizes, covering a capacity range between 242 and 1949 kW.

Mitsubishi Electric's Climaveneta range of air conditioning systems offers a comprehensive solution for commercial and industrial applications. With our focus on efficiency, noise reduction, and versatility, these units provide optimal comfort while minimizing energy consumption and operating costs. The extended capacity range and compact design make them suitable for a wide range of installations. Whether it's an air cooled unit for outdoor use or a water cooled unit for indoor applications, the Climaveneta units are a reliable choice for efficient and effective air conditioning.
